Diversity Supplier’s Post-Season Stats!

As LSU Athletics is approaching the end of the fiscal year, we continue with our steadfast approach to increasing our diverse spending. Our most recent reach outside the LSU community was partnering with the Southern Region Minority Supplier Development Council. Our Supplier Diversity Council hosted its second vendor fair to promote and attract minority and diverse businesses looking to engage with LSU Athletics. As part of our spending analysis for the month of April, two companies registered as diverse suppliers have propelled 2 internal departments towards our collective goal of 10% spend coming from minority and women-owned business.

Diverse Supplier Spotlights:

American Tennis LLC, is a woman-owned company based in Hammond, LA. The company handles all tennis needs. The company began in 1989 and has been going strong ever since. No matter if it’s rackets, balls, or anything in-between, if it has to do with tennis, American Tennis can have a swing at it!

Media Right, is a woman-owned company that offers a galaxy-sized (a nod to their amazing website) array of media tools. From professional equipment that would allow someone to make the next great hype video to installation and integration making everything flow just that much smoother, this company does it.

Overall Numbers:

April showed a .26% overall improvement in diverse spending since March across LSU Athletics as a whole, with $182,119.70 going to minority-owned businesses and $141,443.84 going towards women-owned businesses.

Men’s Tennis continues to lead the charge with a 27.35% hold of the diverse spend percentage.

Team Video Services has made a 5% leap from March to April. This move now brings them to a sizeable 13.73%.

Track & Field (who are killing it at the SEC championship right now) are jumping into first place on the track and moving up in databooks taking a 5.77% leap from last month, putting them at 13.06%.

The Business Office also saw a notable 2.58% increase putting them at 8.49% and on track to make a jump into the 5th spot!
