Self-Care and Succulents: The Perfect Combo

Do something different this Wednesday and head over towards the Enchanted Forest for a mental break and some SELF-CARE!

As we head into the final stretch of the semester, the Office of Wellness and Health Promotion with the Center for Academic Success will be hosting one of our signature events, Planting Positivity, on Wednesday, March 30th from 11-1pm in the Enchanted Forest behind the Student Health Center (in the event of rain, we will be at Coates Hall).

The event is focused on engaging students in activities related to positive psychology and emotional wellness during a time when we start to see an uptick in students seeking mental health services. Staff from the Center for Academic Success will be present to support students in preparing for finishing the term strong with study tips and time management plans. There will be resources and giveaways for students including succulent plants.

Data from the National College Health Assessment show 71% of LSU students report experiencing moderate to high distress due to struggles with procrastination in the last year, and 46% report their stress level negatively impacted their academic performance (NCHA, Fall 2020).

So be proactive, give yourself a break from the daily grind, and enjoy!
