March marked another productive month for LSU Athletics’ supplier diversity volunteers. The month was highlighted by our Virtual Vendor Day, crossing $250,000 in spend with diverse suppliers, and another successful committee meeting.

The Virtual Vendor Day, put on in partnership with BRPOP, allowed our volunteers to meet with local minority business owners. Associate Athletic Director Matthew LaBorde summarized the event perfectly:

“The virtual vendor day was a great success. LSU Athletics was able to share our procurement process and identify some upcoming opportunities. Additionally, we were able to answer some inquiries from several prospective suppliers. We look forward to holding more of these events in the future!”

The LSU Athletics Diverse Spend Report for march can be seen below. To date, we have spent $267,510 with diverse vendors. This puts our diverse spend percentage at 1.23%. We continue to increase our percentage, taking steps in the right direction every day.

The Diverse Spend – Top 5 Departments can also be seen below. The Men’s Tennis and Women’s Tennis teams have held served and stayed in the 1st and 2nd spots, respectively. Our Team Video Services group took their shot, making their first appearance in 3rd place. Our Track and Field team continues to run a good race, coming in 4th in our latest report. Our Business Office has moved into the 5th spot, making its debut in our Top 5. The race to the finish line will be an exciting one!
