Saving a Tiger

While the daily life of a student-athletes can be challenging and rewarding, they don’t often spend too much time early in their collegiate careers thinking about the transition of life after sport. But what happens when their strong, healthy bodies take a sudden turn towards chronic illness. A few of our former LSU Tigers are now in a sprint for their lives. Jai Eugene (LSU Football; 2006-2010), Shemiah Sanchez (LSU Softball; 2016-2019), and Robert Tyler (LSU Football; 1996-1999) are all on kidney transplant lists. HealthyTiger contributor and student-athlete Julia Palin recently caught up with Jai & Shemiah to learn more about their health status and what the TIGERS can do to help!
