June 2023: Isolation & Loneliness

Isolation and loneliness often go together. Loneliness is the distressing feeling of being alone or separated. Social isolation is the lack of social contacts and having few people to interact with regularly.

If you find yourself withdrawing from social activities, it may be a sign to ask for help.

Support is available.  Tiger Legacy Care was created in late 2022 to provide all former student-athletes and their families with resources for mental, behavioral, and substance use treatment.

Former LSU student-athletes and their families have priority access to select clinical programs, a nationwide list of vetted and accredited providers, and discounted provider pricing available by calling the Tiger Legacy Care concierge call line at 866-LSU-9989. Scholarship funds may be available on a case-by-case basis through Fund Recovery. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or require emergency assistance, please call the 24/7 mental health crisis hotline at 866-901-1245, call 988, or head to your nearest local emergency room.
