Throughout this year, LSU Athletics has celebrated 50 years of women’s varsity sports by honoring its trailblazers and educating current student-athletes and the community on the history and impact of the past five decades. To wrap up our yearlong celebration, we are hosting Greater Because of Her, an event commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. At the event, we will gather as a community to highlight some of the individuals who have continuously advocated for equal opportunities for all athletes and to celebrate the women figures in our lives who shape and influence who we are today. Greater Because of Her will have a cocktail hour prior to the start of the event and we will display a Walk of Women gallery to share the stories of some of the individuals who paved the way at LSU. During the ceremony, we will have a special keynote address from Maria Taylor and recognize the women who most influenced and impacted the lives and success of our audience members.
