Happy Retirement Calvin Scott!

Dear Athletics Community,

When I reflect on what makes LSU great, I always come back to the people. Each day, I am inspired by the spirit of service displayed by the members of our department and tomorrow, we celebrate Calvin Scott’s service to LSU as he embarks on retirement.

Calvin is retiring after 15 years of service to LSU, including 9 with Athletics in our mechanic shop. Calvin’s work has been vital to our staff to operate safely and efficiently – he literally keeps things running for us. As the lead mechanic, Calvin has organized the shop in a manner that demonstrated respect for our people and property. No broken down piece of equipment was too small or too large for Calvin to work on and with his excellent work, things could be up and running again in no time.

Thank you, Calvin, for everything you have done for LSU. I wish you the best in retirement and I hope you are able to enjoy your mechanical expertise by restoring vehicles instead of golf carts! Your work has been an important component of our relentless pursuit of victory and I appreciate how you have helped so many of our coaches and staff throughout your years with us. Enjoy retirement!
