Benitez Named Secretary of Collegiate Sports Video Association
Congratulations to our own Jack Benitez as he was recently chosen to serve as Secretary for the Collegiate Sports Video Association (CSVA).
The CSVA Executive Board includes the four positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Each position serves a two-year term. Benitez was nominated by the CSVA Executive Board and approved by the CSVA Executive Committee.
Benitez is entering his third year in his current role with the Tigers. He returned to Baton Rouge after four seasons in the NFL with the Houston Texans from 2018 through 2021. While a student at LSU, Benitez worked with the LSU Football Video Department from 2013 through 2017. He is the third member of his family to graduate from LSU while working in video with the football program.
A native of Independence, LA, Benitez earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from LSU in 2017.
The Collegiate Sports Video Association is an association of video coordinators across the continent involved in college football, college basketball, high school football, CFL, UFL and NFL. The organization began in 1994 and held its first conference the following year. CSVA's main goals are to serve the members and provide a place for dialogue and development within the profession. Among the key principles of the CSVA, they strive to:
Evaluate professional standards among all Video Coordinators
Facilitate the exchange of information and technological innovations
Advance ethical procedures and quality techniques
Raise the awareness of the role that Video Coordinators play within the athletic environment.
